Contessa is the daughter of Brisco County Sr. and a Sacramento county clerk slash bank teller who he rescued. Brisco Jr. wasn't too happy to meet her after the death of their father, knowing what it meant about his parents, and he has (quite often) attempted to leave her somewhere, usually in the care of Professor Wickwire, though it hasn't yet worked.

Tess has a good head on her shoulders, even though she sometimes has flights of fancy, as would any girl her age. Her right hand is almost useless, thanks to being trampled by a horse when she was younger, this is also where she gets her healthy fear of horses. She has decided that Comet is alright, because he's really just an overgrown dog pretending he's a horse.

She might have a little bit of a crush on Bowler, but she's a bright enough girl to realize that's what it is (most of the time) and that it would be silly of her to act on it.
